Fluvanna, TX – Factory Husaberg rider Nick Fahringer placed 6th at the fourth round of the AMA National Enduro Series held Sunday April 20, 2008.

The rocky, desert-like terrain was not what one would typically expect at an enduro event, nor was the hot temperatures. “This was the most foreign course I’ve ridden on. I am not familiar with this type of riding at all,” commented Fahringer. “It was quite an experience adjusting to the different racing conditions but it was worth it in the end to gain some much needed series points.”

Forest Hill, LA – Husaberg backed Nick Fahringer earned a remarkable 6th place finish at the third round of the AMA National Enduro Series after overcoming tough conditions.

The first half of the race went well as Fahringer was sitting in 4th place at the halfway point. “I was really excited to do so well in the first few tests. My Husaberg FE450e was running perfect and I was finally feeling 100% and ready to finish the race strong,” reported Fahringer.

Once he started the 4th special test Fahringer realized there was debris lodged in his fork leg that had started to cause the fork leg to leak. The oil soon fell onto his braking system and his brakes gave out. “I was forced to ride the last half of the event with unbalanced forks and no brakes. I managed to finish the race better than I expected given the circumstances,” stated Fahringer. Despite his misfortune, the talented Husaberg rider stayed inside the top ten and finished a respectable 6th place overall. “Considering the conditions, I am happy to take home some points today and I look forward to breaking into the top five at the next event,” commented Fahringer. Three rounds into the series, Fahringer now sits 8th overall in points.

Greensboro, GA – Husaberg backed Nick Fahringer earned an impressive 7th place finish at the second round of the AMA National Enduro Series over the weekend.

Fahringer chose to race his Husaberg FE450e for the Georgia off-road course. “I love my 450 and feel it has just the right amount of power to pull me around these tough off-road courses,” commented Fahringer. New to the Husaberg, Fahringer says he is adapting to them well. “We really got my suspension dialed in this weekend which helped me stay competitive with the leaders throughout the race. It’s a boost for my confidence to know that I am close to breaking into the top five.”

Canadian ISDE News: Day 5

We are finished except for the MX tomorrow, no major problems today. Technical trial, riders enjoyed it after all the sand. Paul and Theirry dropped some minutes, all others were on time. Finally an early dinner (I hope). Another nice day in Chile, nice breeze, 16C sunshine.

Canadian ISDE News: Day 4 Update

Everybody did very good today, the rumor that salminnen is out brought a very big smile on Geoff's face, he could not stop smiling. He was glad he had only 1 tire change to go. It is hard work after a 7,5 hour day on a motorcycle. They all looked pretty pooped today, looking forward to tomorrow last day, we still have nothing confirmed about Day 6, according to Mike K it probably will only be the MX, no further riding because there still is nothing published about day 6 routes. The MX is right at the impound, so no traveling, and finishers can start crating the bike right after the race, it is only a short drive to the hotel after that.
We had a nice day again, the wind picked up a lot which makes it feel cold. But I saw a couple more red noses this afternoon. Jan, Mike and Lee went for their last gas run 15 minutes ago. Hopefully we will not be left with lots of gas, most cars are on Diesel so we can not fill up the rentals.

Canadian ISDE News: Day 4

A cool start of the day this morning, sun is behind a thick layer of clouds, mist in the mountains and desert, hopefully the riders will not have to much trouble getting through the mist.

It was very hot for them yesterday in the valley and desert, it seems to be cooler today. Typing this, I can see some clear patches. For us, we have no riders until 15.00, the sunny weather is more pleasant. Jesse is crating his bike today. Clint and Stephen are working a check today they crated their bikes earlier this week.

All riders are fine now, Jason missed a check yesterday, but somehow this was not noticed by the timekeepers and could start again this morning. He started 4 minutes late because he had to do some work on his pipe, he fell and the pipe was bent. Michel put on a new gas handle assembly just started on time, only 10 seconds left in his minute. All other riders had no problems this morning.

We celebrated Patrick;s birthday last night at 21.30 with a nice piece of birthday cake and a nice song. I forgot to ask his age, but we had a good time. He will have to buy us beer on Saturday.

Canadian ISDE News: Day 3 Update

Earthquake!!

We are all fine, we had a small (!) earthquake overhere, 7.7 on richter 800 km north, here it was 4,4 and lasted 50 seconds, it was very scary, we were just having lunch at impound, suddenly it became quiet in the tent, it just felt like you are drunk, but it lasted longer. Very strange feeling, feel the earth move under you. We saw a lot of Tsunami escape routes along the coast, this made it even scarier.

Most of the riders and crew did not even feel it especially the crews inland.

The riders are all okay, A schedule today, still lots of time at all checks. Jason missed a check, Larry is going to address this to the Jury, was at a very busy special test at Vicuna. Hopefully more riders missed it and he will still be in.

Canadian ISDE News: Day 3

Good news! Patrick's 2 minutes were cleared, Larry protested yesterday and this morning, on his birthday, Patrick was very happy to hear the minutes were cleared. This will hopefully help to get the trophy team in the top 10.
Pretty easy morning. Jason changed his front tire. Other riders were taking there time and enjoying the nice weather.
I will be back later today with more news.

Canadian ISDE News: Day 2 Update

Canadian ISDE Effort: Day 2 Update

We had some exiting day, car trouble, bike trouble, warm weather, dust etc.
Trophy riders all came in on time, Michael was still feeling terrible. He managed to change his rear but could not get to doing anything else. He was feeling a bit better just before dinner when I talked to him.

Geoff had a leaking clutch cover, Eric put some glue on and up till impound it was not leaking any more, he is going to change the cover tomorrow.
Club riders another story. Stephen did not ride, crated his bike and helped out at impound, did a great job.

Ian, muffler was loud, changed it in his allowed time at the impound area. Jesse, started this morning, Clints clutch dissapeared and Jesse generously offerd his clutch part from his bike to Clints. Unfortunately this did not work out and Clint is out of the race.

Paul is doing great, Thierry lost about 25 minutes today, he had trouble with his spokes.

Report pertains to day one of the Canadian ISDE effort:

Hello all,

Later as planned, the hotel set up a video conferende in the internetroom this morning, we decided to go to a internet cafe instead but after I almost finished my story that computer crashed, during our second attempt we got a phone call that Jesse was having problems and had to rush back to impound.
This morning everything was still fine, no problems. All riders started with no problems, having the first test just after the impound some riders did even a short work out (push ups). The Swedish riders besides us had a competition who could do the most push ups, great to watch.
